Ice Storm Revisited

Just thought it might be neat to post some photos of the ice storm that I had taken, sorry they are a little late, but i thought they might still be interesting to look at.

This is Aaron and Cassie enjoying some time off from school and Marlene's, due to there being no power. But thanks to Randall and Pete and the farm too of course, we were able to use a generator for a few days. Thanks guys, it meant a lot. Thanks too to Elisabeth for taking us in when our house was soo cold and feeding as well! :)

Marten was out playing too!

We decided to go for a drive on one of the days there was no power, just checking out what the rest of the neighbourhood looked like, this is the turn just before Kevin Downe's place, it was almost eerie looking as we drove through.

Things are quite back to normal now. Back to work and school and Marlene's. We sure enjoyed our extra family time. It's nice to not have the electricity sometimes and be forced back into boardgames and card games by candlelight! Good times.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Busy Week

Well another busy week at Blue Bay Farms, a lot of potatoes went out the door this week. Even with some snow this week we managed to get out a lot of loads, not quite sure how many, 10 anyway.

Cassie had a good week at Marlene's, she's happiest the days Caitlyn and Cassidy MacNeill are there, another little girl to play Polly Pockets and Littlest Pet Shop with , and princess and whatever else it is little four and five year old girls play together.

Cassie got some bags of clothes today from Marie, down the road, she was a very happy little girl when she got home.

Aaron's had a busy week at school, well sort of, they had school Monday, a snow day Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thursday at school Aaron said they went outside in the woods on snow shoes, he said that was SOOOOO much fun.

Most of our evenings end with supper, homework, showers and a few rounds of Go Fish or Crazy Eights, and maybe some Nintendo. Then a bedtime story and kisses goodnight.

Well that's about it for us. Tomorrow is grocery day, Oh, I almost forgot, I must tell you of a special milestone Aaron has reached.

He's been saving up his pennies and coins for a long time in the hopes of getting a Nintendo DS. I promised him, if he stopped biting his nails for 28 days straight, that I would pitch in the rest of the money. Well, yesterday , Aaron reached day 28!!!! So guess what, tomorrow we go in search of that new Nintendo DS. I'm really hoping he will keep it up! I told him if he gets another three months of no biting in, I will take him out and buy him a new game of his choice.

Anyway, I was really proud of Aaron and wanted to share that with you guys.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Love to all , Love Tineke, Aaron and Cassie.

Talk again soon.

My First Post

Well I've finally done it, I'm officially a blogger, I know I won't have time to blog every day or anything but I'll try to keep it up as much as I can or whenever something fascinating happens around here. Well this is Rustico so you can't expect too much excitement, but Darlene and I are going to trivia tomorrow night at the Cymbria Lions Club, that's a call for excitement for me but not necessarily anyone else... but we always have fun, we never win but we have fun.

Talk to you guys again soon sometime.

Love Tineke Aaron and Cassie
